Blue essences

After the update the all the Q's became so hard so we were forced to use our essences. For us new players is kinda hard farming without blue. All the old players have stacked their essences. The drop of blue essences have dropped so much. So i have some suggestions.

1) Increase drop of blue ess

2) Add again the good ess at the dailies, it would be much better if you could just make the refiners drop from the chest from the Q's Or the essences drop from the chest. For example the good bosses from the chest would drop purple/red ess (lvl scalled)

3) Sell blue ess for gold at the shop or just make them drop at good rate from jesters (100 instead of 5)

 

I agree that the drops are ridiculously low ... but ... there is a solution for that.
Just farm essences outside Qaizah.

 

In a full run of Q4 mod3 I got just 1 drop of blue ess *... same for other runs I've done in the past days.

The problem is that when I (and maybe others) reached lvl55 I used ess to re-start farming Qs but the amount I used was much more the amount I've farmed.

IMO, the only way to farm them is trough events (like viscanium) that dropped them very frequently.







* also, the amount of ess per drop is even lower than as it was pre r185, playing the same mode.

 

The drops are simply ridiculous.
Until they increase them (if ever) ... just do what I am doing (farm outside Qaizah and PW)

Farm anywhere ... Atlantis, Myrdosch, Lor'Tac ... etc.
Last night I was playing open maps ... fortunately the map was full with midgets ... so it was not just farming but enjoyment as well
I had to remind them that rangers were helping them in the past ... so they can kick them out from the groups now
I have got even good green items with old golden enchantments... that I will craft with level 55 items.

 

I support what Traki's saying. Oh and if you need blue ess... try farming in Varholm during the event. I got 2 entire stacks of blue ess just by completing the event bar, in normal mode. Idk if it drops as often as this in daytime.

 

Hmm well for me the blue ess drop is decent, in fact more than what I get from the last patches. Just farm with groups, only use blue ess on boss. Use green on mobs, you'll be fine.

 

Don't get me wrong ... but the drops has been nerfed down since R185.
I am just sharing my methods of farming ... until the drops are being made decent again.

 

Varnholm at night is a good way to regenerate blue ess levels. You should be trying to complete Varnholm at night anyway, especially if you are 2H.

After 2 months, I've now gotten 4 2% celerity runes and 2 4% grand celerity runes apiece on my DK and mech as well as rebuilding my blue ess and draken supplies (to buy HP runes down the line) and am also building a stash of tier II wolf slayer shields/absorbers and tier II rune belts/amulets (in hopes that an update comes with useful base stats)

 

Yeah I got that, it's the same with andermant. I get 1,5/2x less ander from full PW runs, and when I get some in one of the Qaizah maps I open a bottle of champagne. When I farm with my lvl 40 toon in maps that are 10 lvls behind, I earn more of it...

 

I have the same 120K blues in storage that I had pre-185. This amount did get smaller for a while after 185 until I realized what I was doing was not sustainable. I made some changes to my build and how I play and my reserve started growing again.

Not only is this excellent advice but there are other opportunities in the game to stash away extra blues. As an example we just came off a Full Moon event. No reason to use any normal ess there so all blues that drop can be hoarded.

Farming by definition should never be done with anything higher than green ess. I fell into this thought trap myself right after 185. As I said I soon realized this was not sustainable. I adapted.

And I still do because I stopped wasting them on farming.

I do support this part. Over the years the drop of blues has go up and down. Right now we just went from a very high drop rate to a very low one. This was a bit too drastic of a change and should be adjusted. This is the single point that should be focused on.

Ummm, they're still there. Purple and red ess from the 2nd and 3rd boss challenge. To get them may require a shuffle... same as before 185.

Sorry, but I gotta give a to this part.

I'm at that Level 50 wall. My solution is has been to farm the dickens out of Thunder Crest. Doing the repeatable "Waste not, Want not" and turning on guidance for the Creepers has done a world of good.
I am getting back blue ess (2 stacks, with 3 weeks away from play after 185), slowly.

What I am getting there, thank God, is lots and lots of flawed gems, and more than occasional splintered gems. On a 45 minute run filling 4 tabs, I've been getting 1-12 gems. Even once got a polished Ruby (sweeet), and I've not even built up to one of those yet. My equiped inventory only had a couple simple gems, lots of gems and about 2 polished gems when 185 hit. Now they are all gems and polished gems, some of Quazy. I've created about 6 more polished than I had before 185.

 

Nope. At 55 lvl there is not red and violet ess as a reward for DQ. Only blue ess for brown and silver and those rafiners frags for golden quests. And I don't like it too, cos prefer to ghatering of ess.

 

Well, that I did not know. Only at lvl 54 as I have been doing duct tape and baling wire changes to my RA as I go so I won't be completely nerfed at 55.

Still, it does not change my position on preferring the refiners. My blues in storage just hit 140K today since I have not done anything that needs them for a few days. (Really only 130K... I pulled a stack out of inventory since I do not need it for painful mode in the current.)

I guess the difference of opinion comes from my play style and how long I have been at this. If I can't do day-to-day stuff with mostly green ess I do something easier for a while until I build up my toon. Over the years this has kept my with a good stash of ess. Also I have a lot of bigger old gems that will eventually need to be refined (after they get mashed up to royals.)

So anyway I changed my vote to 'with changes'. The important thing for me would be that the devs implement this to happen automatically. I can always carry around an old flawed gem to keep my refiner DQs coming

I voted yes with changes.

1) Keep the refiners in the daily quests. Add the essensces back in to the dialy quests.
2) Increase the drop rate of blue essences (everywhere! ; they don't drop all that well in Thunder Crest or Stalgard either)
3) Implement a 2 for 1 essences combining system starting with the lowest greens -> highest greens -> blues -> purple -> oranges. Thus it would take 256 minor greens to make 1 orange.

Actually, if you just implement the 3rd option I've noted, it will take care of everything and everyone will actually be happy about how all the rest is currently done.

Oh, and by the way, the Jesters are only giving out gems of Quaziness starting at player level 50. I've not gotten an old gem from them since the changeover and I keep gambling all the gold I collect from farming Thunder Crest and selling all the greens hoping to win more andermant (I need 5100 more as of this writing).

Please, someone tell me that they haven't nerfed (don't get that reference) the "Happy Hour" as well. I haven't seen one since February 5th on Agathon.
