So after the patch yesterday, I noticed my volume was on full settings, blowing me out of my chair giving me a heart attack! When I went into the settings, graphics had been changed as well as some keybindings I had changed to match my game style.

And when I went into Stillwater to do my dailies, everything looked SO fake! Cartoonish even. A guildmate said it was the same for them. The mobs were all shiny and waxy like. I do like being able to see my mouse on them when they glow red. I do like that feature a lot! Just not how the mobs look now. Even my mech looks fake.

Were the graphics changed to match the new feature? (My computer also did a huge update that took almost an hour to do, so maybe this has something to do with it?)

    There was no patch yesterday.
Try playing little with the game settings ... some of them require game restart in order to apply the effects.
Also check your graphics drivers. Sometimes old drivers can make issues ... but newest drivers can make issues as well. In the second case you will have to revert to the previous driver version.
Keep in mind when you clean your DSO folder you are deleting the game settings as well ... so when you are starting the game next time your settings are set to default.

I had a patch yesterday. 1100ish kb patch. Was supposed to be 1097, but it kept crawling up. I was playing it last night while it was past the 1097 mark of patching, and for some reason, didn't finish it till this morning when I went to play again. I'm on Agathon server.

I'll check my graphics drivers. I usually keep them up to date. I do not throw out the DSO folder.

But what about my guildmate who is also saying the same things I am about the graphic changes? It's odd that we're complaining of the same thing when your suggestions are pointing at my end of things. 2 people, same issue, 2 different parts of the world. Doesn't add up.

You did not have a patch. You were simply redownloading the "DOSclient" folder which contains your settings configuration. This reset everything to default including graphics to low and volume to max and hit keys to default. A way you can save yourself time in the future is by keeping a copy of the settings.xml file in a safe location in case you ever need it.

A full redownload like this likely occurred because some computer cleaning program identifying the client folder as a collection of temp files that could be deleted to improve computer performance and clear space.

Hmm.. ok. Never had that happen to me before.

There was an upgrade for my graphics card, but now my USB 3.0 port isn't working, lol. I moved my headset to a different USB port in the back and it's working fine, just not my 2 front ones. (If anyone who is savvy with Windows 10 and computers, I have a Cybertron PC (Don't remember what chip I use, i just know it's not Intel).

    Thanks for the help.

If it is not Intel then it is AMD XD
But your PC configuration has got nothing to do with your problem. try reverting the graphics drivers. There are many cases where different graphic cards and their drivers are acting weird or not working at all under Windows 10.
