Depends on gems you have to put in it, PVE or PVP, and what other gear you have. The bigger the damage gems you have, the more benefit %dmg will have. If you have other gear that has a lot of crit you don't need it on the bow, and spd% is a very valuable PVP asset even at the partial sacrifice of damage. I know, not a very definitive answer.

At level 25 I wouldn't worry too much about finding the perfect bow unless you plan to stay there the rest of your DSO career.

    --MERGED--

Unless you plan on spending you DSO career at level 25 I wouldn't worry too much about finding a perfect bow. When you do need to find it, the answer will depend on other factors. The gems you have to put in it, your other gear, and whether you are PVP or PVE primary. You can use damage calculators like this or this to help you decide what works best for you at any level.

Generally you want to put damage gems in your bow because in addition to any %dmg enchantments you get on your bow, your shortbow or longbow ranger skill increases the bows dmg by 25% and it uses those gems in the calculation. Most people prioritize dmg gems in weapon, speed gems in adornment.
Armor gems, cyanites, just add to the armor total to give you an overall percent decreasing physical damage. It won't matter what item you put them in. There is one special piece that gives an armor bonus to the gems, the defender belt. It increases the armor value of the item by a % and includes the armor gems you have in it. The defender belt has only been available one time as an event reward but I wouldn't be surprised to see it return. The new jester armor bonus gems I suspect work the same way so if you had those in the chest piece it would also include the armor gems in the chest for the total % increase. I haven't been able to test this myself as my gold ends up buying useless leg bows at the crafting table:D There is also a pvp cape that has an increased armor value, but you cant put gems in it.

I really like speed on my bows and have critical hit in my rings and amulet, if i can get a bow with both ciritical hit and speed i'll definitely use it but speed is amazing because you dish out more damage than say a bow with just critical hit and regular speed, the Windrunner's Legacy bow has both critical hit and a lot of speed, one of the fastest bows in the game, rare drop but if you get it then do so.

How does one convert a raw Critical Hit Rate score (eg, 1000) to a percentage?

You can calculate it but it takes too long, I use the Drakensang Optimizer

I found a formula after about 10 minutes of searching forums. Search subjects have to be lucky hits to work.

    https://board-en.drakensang.com/threads/critical-hit-rate-list.57655/#post-609626

    % = CHR/(CHR+1918.84) for level 45

Similar formulas work for other stats. Rumor has it that 80 % is the maximum achievable.

How does that work? The only figures you can change are "Your Character" and "Your Opponent." I can't change or enter my stats under "Potency."

I was googling variations of "drakensang online" "damage calculation" and couldn't find anything. But the formula and the list give me something to work with.

@ xEthnic and Darwarren: thnx for your input. Anyone else feel free to add.

I use the same formula that Darwarren mentioned (well, I round to 1919 because I'm lazy). Cap is 80%.

Same formula is used for resistance and armor.

for block rate i use 959 and block reduce is 480.

I just add an ornament to my char and put for example 2100 Crit on it, then i click save and it shows me how much percent 2100 is

Gee, if expressing critical hit value in percentage is so important, why even bother with a raw score? In any event, with the info you guys provided, I was able to generate comparative damage figures. Basically (via gems), I had upped my attack speed at the cost of reducing critical hit value and wanted to know if this move gave me more power. Farming/fighting, and now calculations, show that the trade-off was worth it. :)

Not a rumor... Fact. I did it just for kicks in one of the DK threads (With Crit), and if I go looking for it later, I'll edit this with the pic/post.
