Suggestion Repeated Event motivation

    Problem: The primary motivation for most players to do events is to obtain gear and items they do not currently possess. The events that are repeated on a periodic schedule such as the Desert of Essence, Defeat the Undefeatables, moon events, and last Solstice event offer little enticement for players that have obtained that gear from previous iterations of the event. At best, most complete the event in the hopes of replacing items from the event they already possess with higher quality items and to obtain the Draken available.

    Suggestion: These events should offer drops specifically meant to improve already existing gear from the PREVIOUS event. Example: the Red boss in the DoE event should drop coins/globes that can be combined at the workbench with a set of Red gloves from the last or previous events to improve the BASE stats and enchantments on the gloves. This should be repeatable until the gloves are at max possible enchantment or even exceed original possible enchantment by a predetermined percentage. This should not be confused with the the current GOP system that should further enhance the stats applying in place mechanics.

    Support: I'm often amazed at the effort players will put into obtaining items from events. But this motivation is lost, of course, once obtained. Shooting for an item/s that would improve existing gear drop from bosses would add a new element of motivation for all players and be a simple step adding enjoyment to the game.

    So basically allow you to upgrade the random stats to higher numbers while still inside the original bracket?

    As an initial idea yes thats the thought. Or, maybe a percentage above original possible stats. Something that would give a reason to pursue events a second...third...fourth time.

    It's a nice idea.

    I look forward to getting accelerating and equipment fortifying jewels in the events, as well.
    Why should the Jesters and Zumpe have a monopoly?

    +1 for a good idea, BigP. My motivation for my current inactive state was their not doing things like this, on top of the the myriad technical difficulties.

    all the events are lame with the same items all the time, once you have them why bother, its a waste of time and effort...
    if your going to have an event at least change the rewards...make the events more interesting and worth doing..

    First thing that comes to my mind is Dragan event... 3 item that need to be find 4 time to craft bla-bla-bla. We all know result of that idea. And if you play event multiple time, and all of us did that, you can find better item. Personly I play with my 11lvl character DoE 4 times and get all 4 times just a boots.

    Problem with last DoE is that thay allow players to get full set but with lower stats than last year.

    Anyway.... much players plays event with thay characters from lvl9 and motivation in that case is to get items that are for thair current lvl, its easyer than to gain GoP to upgrade items, for others main reason is drakens.

    What about that idea of having circular, loop-like, event bars? I think BigPapa thought that one up as well (if not, then I don't remember who I saw saying it).

    Some thing like this would be a motivation to carry on with the events, but more importantly the game in general. The amount of players in game that are so disheartened at the moment is quite staggering.
    I think DSO must have a massive turn over, most that start, stop playing more quickly than any other game I have played.
    That must say some thing about me because I like this game so much.
    Most of that is because of the potential the game has, Dso please start to listen because you are so far away from meating this potential, it is very frustrating.

    i like the idea to get more interesting items that are unique from how meny times you have done that event, mayb even change there color if there say 5+ upgraded

    This game keeps players with a high tolerance to conflict and frustration. The enjoyment index is another factor, which can include the satisfaction of not giving up. It doesn't have to be so difficult, but DSO can get away with below average service and poor gaming.
    Some quarterly business reports still end up disasters, as they should. But that doesn't do much for the players left hanging out to dry.
