Not sure how to implement this or I just don't know about something but being able to copy and paste would HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! alot here. On Agathon, theres a huge language barrier over here and us english speaking players are screwed sometimes. Atleast with this, we can attempt to communicate with google translate!

    1. You will never get copy/paste option ... there is a reason for it.
    2. Learn languages, it is for your own good.

Join one of the english guilds and become useful; after a breaking in period you'll have no problem getting english speaking groups going.

If you stick around for a while you'll figure out the other english guilds and get a broad network of players, and they'll recognize you as well.

It also helps if you level up to 45 and play all phasez of the game (storyline, parallels, events and pvp)

I do know a few languages, English/Polish. Go learn polish then reply back on how easy it is. -_-

I am and do all of those. I've been playing for quite awhile, but there is times when people simply don't want to do a certain thing in the game, or are unable to. So finding others who will, 90% of Agathon DOESN'T speak english, it would be helpful to translate what each other say so we can communicate better.

ctrlc/ctrlv would be great for translation reasons but annoying when sheeple will use it to flood the chat. i make my FL with players that can speak same languages as me unless they are very nice/considerate players i will make exception and add them also

I have a better idea. Why not BP implement a realtime translator into the chat? Copy and paste would be dangerous in the hands of spammers and this would save a step from switching tabs to copy and paste and yada yada yada... But I can see maybe a couple of caveats of having a built-in translator, mainly 'LAG'.

People that spam users will have a field day with it. Day 1 of having the feature you will see a huge falling away from the game.

I like the auto translates in other games. simple words and phrases are in a menu and you select that and the game sends that to each person via the language of the game they are running. This might accomplish the spirit of the OP with a slight twist.

Oh really now? One word: Macro. People have been using macros since the 90s. Type it once, spam it 10000 times. Either you have a 3rd party software installed (which is against DSO rules for some reason cause not every helping 3d party software is bot-ing) or you have a gaming keyboard like Asura Reddragon.. you need only press a button.

If people want to spam, they spam. It's easy and you don't have to be wizkid to do it. There are even easier ways to spam than click/copy/paste/enter.

Also, I like how you guys are talking about this like there are no spammers. =) On Heredur, go to the Atrium, click Regional, wait 1-2 minutes and you'll see:

    m1
    m1
    m1
    m1
    m1
    m1
    m1
    m1
    m1
    m1
    m1

This said, I'm totally against copy/paste in DSO but you're reasoning is shabby on this matter.

Overall, we do need SOMETHING to fix this language problem. That or merge tegan with agathon, most english players is always a +

No I have seen it in other games the copy text from screen and paste spam. A macro on keyboards and the like are possible but not what I am getting at. The people that copy existing game chat and paste it multiple times till your full and can not type any more and hit enter.

Copy and paste already work in the game. CNTRL+C, CNTRL+V. I use it all the time if I type something in the wrong chat channel. I haven't tried to use it on someone else's text so don't know if that works, but my own typing does, and pasting into the chat window from google works.

Doubt DSO would allow copy/paste function but I understand what you mean. Once I tried to communicate with an Indonesian player (I know seven languages personally but Javanese is not one of the seven!) in Tegan... I wanted to tell the person that his/her username is the nickname I use on my older daughter when she was an infant). You have any idea how hard it is to type the exact translation of that statement from Google Translate into the browser tab that I'm playing DSO, flipping the tabs back and forth to verify I spelled it out 100% error free? By the time I hit enter in the PM, the player in question already logged out, I get the error message saying username unknown, and I wasn't able to spot that player since!

Does anyone have any idea how aggravating it is not being able to tell a person, "Your name is the exact nickname I used to call my older daughter in Cantonese when she was an infant." in Javanese? According to Google Translate, it's EDIT and I don't even know if that's even correct and I type quick! Yes, it might be a gender thing but I get extremely frustrated when I can't even compliment someone in a timely manner.

To prevent an execution of certain code ... maybe....
It is not working for me ... so it have to be the hardware you are using (keyboard).
